I have two FT-1000s - a D and non-D - in an SO2R set up. Both are now modified with roofing filters. I have used MPs and MP MKVs, and, frankly, they sound mushy to me. I'll stick with my 1Ks. Rob K6R

I have measured myself. However since the FT-1000D I put the roofing filter on also have other mods it might not be representative, at 2 kHz it did measure 88 dB without and 90 dB with INRAD roofing.

Noted when I tried to load up my Microkeyer with the microHAM USB Device Router that it was not recognised by the computer. There was no power to the microKEYER. The power comes from the FT1K +13.5v

FT-1000D is relatively easy to replace. Fuse is in a holder and easy to access ... not soldered in and buried as in some of the newer rigs. Uses a standard "meter" or instrumentation fuse ... 73, ..
