Try bypassing the amp in the mike and using the element directly into the rig and see what happens....just a suggestion, but, the crystal element is high impedence and so is the rigs mike input, rig

I used the D-104 without the amp to my OMNI C, and I had to pad it with a resistor network as I recall. I would bypass the amp, then see if it improves, then you might pad it with some couple of resi
