For various reasons I am considering two single, parallel but 180deg opposing direction beverages on the same supports rather than a single switchable bidirectional beverage. The bevs would be separa

Hi Mike, I have not tried to run two Bevs like that, but I have tried to run one close to a wire fence. The best F/B I achieved was about 8 dB. I would think that the two scenarios would be very simi

Is this the Beverage above the fence that you mean, Greg? http://www.g3xrj.com/RxArray_files/2wire_bev/2wire_bev.htm That was a good article. 73, Mike www.w0btu.com __________________________________

I can understand why a fence would be a problem. Theoretically at least parallel Beverages should have no radiation/coupling. But that then means an absolutely perfectly balanced and terminated pair

Jeff, EZNEC confirms what you and Neil have found. Modelling Neil G0JHC's antenna with 1000ft beverages at 12ft and 10ft, offset by 30ft length-wise, shows almost identical patterns to a single bever

John, Yes, if both beverages are to be the same length, a single wire will work in both directions.  I take this approach on the E/W antenna:  It's a single-wire with transformers at each end and two

Mike, You are willing to run 2 coax cables and have 2 transformers, but don't want to bother with remote relays, etc. You could simply have a single wire, terminated at each end by a transformer. Run

Terro ant kill works well around here. If you cant elevate the RG-6 then find some surplus CATV hardline and remote the switching. There are low cost microwave relays that provide a wiping action tha
