You didn't say what rig it is. Does your present rig have a jack for a 2nd antenna jack? Keep in mind that some rigs don't shut off the receiver when hooked up to a second antenna. If your rig is not

If you are talking about an identical wire laying on the ground under the Beverage, a counterpoise is the absolutely worst thing you can do. The Beverage depends on a lossy ground under the wire. ( n
