- Looking for info on electric fence noise. It's tearing me up on 160! Know it's pbly a ground leak. Seems to me we've covered it here but I don't remember when. Anyone point me where to go looking for

- Most likely it is a poor connection causing arcing between wires. First locate the fence with a portable radio in the general direction of the noise (i.e. direction of Beverage with strongest noise).

- Also look for tall grass or brush against the fence-- providing an arc path to ground. Living in farm country all my life, I've cleaned around neighbors fences many times to clear the problem. Also -

- One thing that is sometimes helpful is to walk the fence line at night. Often, the offending noise source can actually be seen as a visual spark between the wire and a ground source such as a weed. L

- Craig, YOu'll have to give us a little more here. Is the interference a quick millisecond snap, or a long pulse...quarter second or more...type noise. In either case you could be dealing with a fence

- FWIW... What's really cool about some of the "professional" radios used to locate RFI, is that there is a small speciallized oscilloscope built in the radio that displays a "signature" of the noise.
