I used the 80 Mtr ant the same way when I was a Novice and used a Central Electronics 20A on Xtal control. My old Elmer Earl W8CTY told me about it. It worked great. ED K8OT In a message dated 1/21/2

Topband, addictive? By far my most memorable QSO was my first topband DX: a QSO through the LORAN QRM with Armin DL1FF from my college station W1KMV in 1965 using a Viking Valiant, a Hallicrafters SX

I certainly remember how exciting my first DX on 160 was. I was so excited that my new antennas were working that I ran upstairs whooping and hollering to my wife something about breaking the pileup
