My new 160m sloping "T" transmit antenna seems to be working well, and now I need to attack the local RX noise problem (again). A small shielded loop and K9AY help somewhat, but reception is still ov

The DX Engineering unit designed by W8JI has been reported by many to work better than either MFJ. But don't all such units depend on there being single sources of noise? If you have multiple sources

Walt, Noise reduction from multiple directions and sources is not going to be easy. I use several MFJ-1026 units, both for noise cancellation purposes and for phasing staggered Beverages. The setting

Walt: One of the best ways to find the noise nulls is to reduce the signal values, both antenna and sense [aux] inputs, to very low values. Then look for the nulls. I wrote something about how to do

Hello Walter, Those units have a "gap" in their phase range. The range should be a full 360 degrees, but it is only about 280 degrees. If you can't get a good null, then perhaps this is the problem.

Hi Walt: I own a ANC-4 and a MFJ-1026 that I use with my own version of a rotatable Diamond shaped terminated loop low noise receiving antenna. I have never been able to consistently achieve a deep n

Good point to keep in mind. The DX Engineering NCC-1 covers the full 360-degree phase range with flat gain characteristics. Although priced higher than the two units mentioned, quality of constructi
