Heavy rains Friday night, but no water under feet until almost 3 AM. I did
not feel I heard as well as last year. The second night had less local
noise but some big crashes. I heard better then.
More countries than last year, less 10 pointers I think, and a few less
QSOS. Missed NDAK for WAS TKS to KL7Y for calling
in, thats always a high point. Around 1:30 UTC the second night,
apparently while the local BIG GUNS were listening with all their antennas
on Europe. I guess I would rather have 100 more 10 pointers, but without
room for a real beverage, Ill take the extra western QSOs. 3 JA's were
another treat. about 168 10 pointers worked.
IC781, Inverted L peaking about 60 feet and sloping down to the
South East.
Short listening wire some of the time, mostly listened on the
transmit antenna.
I slept about 3 hours the first night and knocked off around
3:30 local the second night, comming back on to pick up a few more FRC
members just before the end of the contest.
Total FRC members worked 100, That gives me some insurance QSOs for the
FRC 70th Anniversary award. Its real pretty and
free. DX guys only need 35 members. The list is at our WEB site.
