Didn't operate much in this one. I was playing in a softball tournement
that started at 8:00am local time. We finished up around 2:30 in high
90 degree heat.
After a nice shower I got to the office and hooked up all my coax and the
rotor cable and connected my thinkpad to the station. After 12 contacts
I fell asleep at the wheel.
Before I went to the office I read the rules for the contest one last time
in the August QST. It said exchange rst and state. I didn't think that
was correct but hey QST printed it.
My first contact was with Howie, N4AF at 21:15z. He was quick to correct
me that the contest is still looking for name and state. I wonder how many
confused contesters were out there due to QST's miss print??
Anyways I'll be ready for NAQP SSB. I have a new C4XL on order to give
me a better signal on 40. I hope UPS works out their problems so Tom
and Steve can ship the antenna. I have my fingers crossed.
