Comments:
- sorry to all I didn't hear. The band was really crowded, with QRM at
a tremendous level most of the time.
- we can organize DX-peditions to Spratley, Wake, Kingman Reef etc, but
why can't we have activity from Mississippi?
Except for the CW part, at low power, this was my first real contest from the
new QTH. And it seemed to work well. Didn't get many good runs, but the
overall
score is acceptable.
Without any experience of what to get from the new QTH, I had studied previous
results to see what top scores looked like. To reach top level in Europe I
expected to need 1500+ Q's. Beeing in the northern part of the continent, I
don't expect to be among the winners, but I decided anything less that 1000
Q's
would be dissapointing.
Starting off on Friday night was quite good. Worked 16 Q's, and hearing the
OH's
running pile-up! Saturday morning started slow, but improved. QRM level was
tremendous, and almost impossible to get a clear frequency. Got 702 Q's the
first day, and 57 mult's.
Sunday started even slower than Saturday, and didn't really pick up, but it
stayed open till late evening. Managed 673 Q's, and NO new mult's!
Missed MS, PEI, LAB, YT and NWT.
Got lot of comments on good signal, but didn't get any good runs. Best hour
was barely over 100.
At least I have proved that the QTH works, so in future contest you have just
yourself to blame if you miss the LA multiplier!
See you in WPX (still single band 20m).
