Friday nite started out with some real good rates, Jim did an excellent
job running them, he is rapidly gaining contesting skills with each
contest! 20m was especially good the whole contest. 40m was a real struggle
except for late on Sunday afternoon. The best surprise of the contest
was the 15m opening on Sunday morning to europe, that one made the contest
for us. 80m was good for stateside, but no DX to speak of except carribean/ S.A.
160m was non existant, not even a signal heard through the 20 over QRN
10m opened fairly well to carribean/ south America.
After oversleeping on Sat morning and only catching the tail end of the 20m
opening into europe, we thought Sunday we would hit it earlier and really
work 'em. WRONG! The band was flat and nothing doing until later in the day
and even then it didnt seem to recover. Must have been a minor disturbance.
Congrats to Jeff WC4E on the new station setup, nice job Jeff, and to George
K5TR who we seemed to hear everywhere!!
We met both of our goals of breaking 1 Meg points and 1000 Q's, not too bad
for first time serious effort for us both.
Thanks for all the Q's and real fun, now to catch up on some sleep.
73, todd
