Better antennas this year made all the difference. Worked S+P only but the
bands were filled with calls and many were different the next time accross
the band. Could hear eu working some guys but didn't waste much time
trying
to work them because of the truly nice pileups on them.
Tranceiver is a TS-820 runnign barefoot at about 100 wattsout.
Transmitting on a 52 ft tall inverted el free standing with 24 radials.
receiving on 2 1/2 beverages: NW 45deg 600ft down hill.
W 310deg 450 ft
SW 135 zigzag wire on ground no end term res.
Worked 8 hrs Friday and 3 hrs Sat. nite.
Had to please the wife on saturday night. Thought conditions were good.
worked all over US but didn't work WA or OR this year. Lots of good sig
not too bad for interference. Little atmospheric moved in sat morn. Should
have got back to radio on Sat aft earlier.. band was filled at 5pm local.
