Mults 7 28 52 87 93 51 319
TR says claimed score: 2,124,540
Op:W7EW QTH: Mt. Domitrix, Oregon Gear: 1 radio plus > 2 antennae
Time recognized being unconscious: 4 hours
Observations: Had steady but unspectacular runs into JA on 10-40. 10 and
80 were below expectations as mentioned by several others. The ether was
more suitable to working AU on 6M & 2M..but those bands don't seem to
count very much. No Eu on 160 (duh) and 80..and 2 Euros on 10M.
Surprises:1) steady running ability into EU on 15M.2) Having a well
meaning S. American station on 10M telling Euro's that I'd moved there to
try backscatter Q's get excited and tell them to beam direct to W7 as he
was hearing both me and the Euros....arrgghh.
3) Let the locals think my efforts were in preparation for Y2K events.
4) Surpassing the W7 SSB record by a miniscule 81K. Look forward to
the vigorous log checking to see if it sticks.
5) Having an EP station call (hopefully genuine) which would've been a
double-mult in the CQWW..but appreciated as a single malt (mult) here
6)Had the contest finish at 4:00pm local...made it to the
Blazer/Rockets game 2 hours and 60 miles away/later to watch a 40 point
win marred by a tired Charles Barkley and a lot of little voices coming
from everywhere repeating suffixes in foreign accents.
73 and I remain,
