All Hopes of bettering last year's score were dashed when Aurora
just about shut every thing down from about 0500 to 1400 Z second
day
only 110 qsos in 9 hour period. Incredible how you can go from an
average
rate of 150 per hour for first 24 hours to 75 per hr second
day.Only the strongest
were heard , CQ'in our face.
I feel for guys who live this far North and have to contend with
this phenomenon
quite often.
Internet connection helped with finding mults , but only Marginally
so !!
Weather was a mixed bag rain/snow/ lots of WIND so setting up field
day style
was it's usual challenge.
One of the highlights of our trip was providing Ivo - 5B4ADA with
his last zone for
WAZ 160 prior to contest.
Round trip for Dan VO1MX and I , began Saturday 21st and ended on
31st arriving
back home.
Chris VE3FU & Dave VE2ZP arrived Wednesday/Monday via Teradactyl
air after 9
hour multi change flight and returned Tuesday same circuitous route
, both sans various
pieces of equipment due to plane being overweight .Fortunately all
arrived before contest.
Thanks to all who obliged with a band change when asked........ to
those who didn't
we'll see some of you in SS (mebbe).
