Comments:

Stew must have been sleeping at the switch last night as he usually looks after
us topbanders better than this. Absolutely dreadful conditions up here in the
north! Lots of atmospheric noise (from the coronal steam bombardment / auroral
activity??) took most of the enjoyment out of the best contest of the year. Even
working next-door grids was tough at times with the heavy QSB. Hats off to N1EU
- Barry always comes through from the east coast; never did hear AA1K or  most
of the regulars back east. Best signal from the east coast was W3GH. Best 'ears'
award goes to N4PN who pulled my LP signal on the first call. Normally S9+ all
night, W0AIH, was a weak water S1 at best. When the band did pop open, prop
seemed to favor the W5-W4 Gulf coast and the northern EM grids.
