Comments:
Congratulations to the W3LPL and KC1XX contest teams! Even at the bottom of the
sunspot cycle these guys go all out for 48 hours and make SUPER scores on all
bands!
I am extremely grateful to all of the operators of K3LR who made sacrifices in
their personal lives to travel to K3LR for all of the 2005/2006 contests this
season. I am so fortunate to have top-notch operators come here and believe in
the dream that we can do well against east coast stations from far Western
Pennsylvania!
Chef Sal, WM2H was back for another stint on 75 meters. In between great runs on
the band, he found time to cook up the shrimp for Friday, the pork roast for
Saturday and the grilled steak and mushroom extravaganza on Sunday night. Our
breakfast cook (excellent!) John, N2NC did a spectacular job on 160 giving the
new DX Engineering 4 square listening array a real work out. It was great to
have Dave, KM3T and Bob, W5OV back for another 40 meter run. They had an amazing
multiplier total. Just SUPER! Pat, N9RV was sick at home with the flu, so K3LR
newcomer Doug, K1DG moved down in frequency from his favorite band (15 meters)
to 20 meters where he was joined by one of the ?Best Ears in Contesting?, Andy,
N2NT. They pushed the 20 meter QSO meter very high with an outstanding rate on
Saturday morning of 225! They were smoking! Phil, K3UA did an excellent job on
15 meters. Steady rate and lots of rotator turning. Thanks to Greg, N3SD who
helped out both days on last minute notice. George, N3GJ was a one-man band on
10 and was thrilled with every QSO!
Station description is at http://www.k3lr.com/hardware
Thanks to Dave, W9ZRX for his many preparations in helping me get ready for this
contest. He is always there when I need him. Thanks to Tom, K8CX for the
countless hours he spends keeping the K3LR web site up-to-date. Also thanks to
Phil, K3UA for making sure our logs get up to LoTW.
We?ll see everyone in the fall for the CQWW DX contests!
Hope to see you in Dayton in May.
For the K3LR team,
Very 73,
Tim K3LR
