Comments:

This ended up being a "limited" effort for me, both in time (less than 2 hours
on Saturday and just over 9 hours on Sunday) and travel (4 Grids, right around
a grid "Corner"), but I'm pleasantly surprised with my results, especially in
light of rainy, cloudy conditions in the Chicago area, where even saying that
the bands were "rotten" is probably TOO kind.

I count 35 Different Calls in my log, including W6A, the Chicago-land Special
event call for the 2006 "Route 66 On the Air" event and I specifically
recognize K2DRH, K3SIW and W9IIX for "clean sweeps" as we worked on all 5 of my
bands from each of the 4 Grids that I visited. Fellow rovers WB8BZK/R and
WB9SNR/R were in the area and we exchanged a few contacts as well. Besides
K2DRH (in EN41), the only other stations that I worked outside of the 4 Grids
that I visited were K8EB (EN73, 4 bands), KB8U (EN71, 4 bands), and W9GA (EN53,
3 bands) and I definitely appreciate the multipliers.

Thanks to all who were out there that listened for (and heard and
contacted)THIS "weak one" and to the ARRL for their sponsorship of this
contest.

Don't forget the SVHFS-sponsored Fall Sprints, starting with 144 MHz on Monday,
9/18...7-11pm LOCAL time.

73, JK
