Comments:

Getting tough out here in the west, even with fair 20m prop. 40 was noisy, 80
worse. As Danny sez, it's hard to be heard on 80m with the sun high in the
sky. I called Mike a dozen times on 80m but T-Storms were louder then me.

Starting on Aug. 3, the format will shift from NS Ladder, to variable formats.
We'll first practice for NAQP CW (their rules, not NS) on Aug. 3. The following
Thursday, I thought we'd try something new: a one band (20M while the sun is
high) sprint, to practice the pure art of S&P Sprinting, and NO SO2R (Then
those who don't have SO2R can play on equal ground with those who do). In late
August, we'll return to the rules of the father of NS, the Internet Sprint
(20/40), invented by N6TR. When low band noise and prop. condx. improve, we'll
add back the low bands, in between practice weeks for NA Sprint, CQP, and ARRL
SS. Please check the NCCC/NS webpage, and weekly announcements on CQ-Contest
and other reflectors for what rules we'll use in any given week. We hope that
WA7BNM/N7WA will continue to support this event with calendar and score
reporting on 3830.

This 30 minute event has become the weekly high-light contest of more than 100
contesters, and is growing in participation each week. Keep coming back, you
new guys, and spread the word!
