                    222 MHz Fall Sprint

Call: N6ZE
Operator(s): N6ZE
Station: N6ZE

Class: Single Op LP
QTH: dm04ne

Summary:
Total: QSOs = 12 Mults = 6 Tot Dist(km) = 2506 Total Score = 72

Comments:

Pleasant Fall evening with clear sky, temp = 70F, nil wind; nice sunset &
moonrise.

3 QSOs made with local Thousand Oaks, CA (DM04) RACES/ACS Members.

Only station to South was K6TSK in DM03. (TOTALS: 12 QSO in 6 Grids = 76
points)

Worked Grids DM07, CM97, CM98, CM88. Best DX was W6VNQ at 373mi/600 km in CM88
to Northwest of Sacramento, CA

By 9PM PDT, K6MYC (DM07) 326 km was 'rag-chew' quality: S-6 QSB.

Introduced newly licensed ham, Stu, KK6SUV, to nuances of non-local VHF
communication. He was impressed with the performance of 222 MHz during the
SPRINT!

Rig: FT736, T.E. Systems 'brick', & M>2 9 element yagi on small hilltop
within city limits of Thousand Oaks, CA
