I operated this weekend to honor an old friend, Sam Neal, N5AF. Sam died a
little over 2 weeks ago while I was in Germany.
I have known Sammy (what I always called him) for almost 60 years. We met at our
first day at college and were college roommates afterwards. Sammy was a fine man
and did a lot to further the hobby of amateur radio as a teacher and mentor to
others. He was a charter member of the Texas DX Society.
It as a pleasure to have known him during my life.
