Comments:

NAQP RTTY has become one of my favorite contests, one where I
can feel "competitive" with my modest station, unassisted.
This one was FUN, and was the personal best of the six years
I have now participated.

Other than my usual goal of a personal best, I decided to see
how well 10 & 15 would do with increasing SF. Rotating between
10>15>20, etc., I ended up with "bests" on all three.

At 9:20 local I hit 80 for the first time -- fresh meat! But my
dipole didn't load -- bummer -- so the MFJ949E got turned on. And,
after a few transmissions all was well. Wonder what the RF fixed,
as I can see nothing visible. By 10:40 local I had a "best" on 80
and stopped for the 11 pm news.

I always watch contestonlinescore.com. I noticed Randy started
late and went ROARING past me: how does he do that??? But I also
noticed he stopped around the time I stopped for the news. SO...
after the news I finally hit 40. By then most every Q was worth
>250 points as they were new mults. Beating Randy might be
possible -- even though he didn't know I was chasing him. AND
at 12:12 I finally surpassed his score. I gave up at 1:15, after
deciding I wasn't going to reach a "best" on 40. Four out of five
is not bad.
