1A, 3A, on and on is the "Average Current" rating on the diode spec
sheets in the Digi-Key catalogue. 200A is the "Peak Forward Surge
Current" rating for the 3A avg. current units. . There is no statement
to the effect that only one 200a surge is permitted.
