Amen Amen John!!!
I am relatively new to this list and I have wondered why the continuous
banter, personal attacks, and condescension seem to take up so much of the
bandwidth. I am sure there are many positive contributions to be submitted
and appreciated by the list members, without any need for all that stuff.
This is about ham radio, for crying out loud! A hobby, and hopefully, a
creative and rewarding endeavor to be enjoyed. Why is it necessary to
line-up in opposing camps, with differing technical viewpoints, and sling
insults at each other? Why is it necessary to continually brag about
academic credentials and professional accomplishments? Is this perceived as
being necessary to add credibility to the expression of ideas and/or
opinions about technical matters? Gee, if that is the case, then those of
us without PhDs in EE or Physics might as well just keep our opinions or
observations to ourselves. There is obviously no place for empirical
observations in this forum.

Comments submitted with all due respect.
