The designer seemingly:
1. did not realize that a tuned input circuit is needed for g-g config.
2. did not take the mfg's recommendation for vertically mounting
vacuum-caps.
3. did not experiment with HV-RFCs to determine that sections which need
to be
decoupled from each other do Not decouple if they are mounted end to
end.
4. supposed that tank conductors need be no larger than what is needed
for 50/60 Hz
applications -- i. e., he/she seemingly knows not of RF skin-effect.
In a 3cx3000A7
amplifier, tank circulating current is c. 30A (approx = tank-op-Q x
I-anode). 30A at
14MHz heats like approx 60A at 60Hz.
- However, the tank looks like it receives forced air cooling.
