OK, is the tail wagging the dog? Are we hypothetically reverse engineering an available device with all these limitations and drawbacks because it is available? Should we instead be asking the solid state manufacturers to come up with a suitable device? A solid state replacement for a 3-500 at a 300 VDC potential would be nice! Anyone know how to go about making such a request?
