Hi Barrie:

I ran 4 x 6AG7 tubes in grounded grid for some time with 200 watts input. 
The big problem is that you cannot see the plates.  The amp still has the 
original tubes in it and sits in a box in my basement.

I should autopsy one of those tubes one of these days.  I sometimes wonder 
if I pushed those tubes hard enough, since they never failed.
