Many cases you don't even need the motor in the phase converter
The three phase transformer will problably work fine with just the capacitor 
to the wild leg which was already suggested. Especially since it will be 
lightly loaded.
Has worked on motors I have tried anyway.
Remember many large single phase motors are close to a 3 phase motor with 
addition of capacitor bank.
