There have been several postings concerning
the possibility of removing a grid-filament short
with a pulse of high voltage. I can only report
on one case where it worked.
My homebrew 6-meter push-pull 4-400A
amplifier was built in 1961. About 25 years
later, one of the bottles developed a grid-
filament short. I blew out the short with 400
volts from a bench power supply.
The amplifier is still working fine, with the
original 48 year-old Eimac tubes.
