Ok, it's possible someone misquoted him to me, or it might have been in a
magazine article. If he really never said it then I apologize profusely, but
I know that misinformation floated around for a while in the early days of
GG amps as used by hams, back in the 1950's and '60's. It was given as the
reason GG amps don't require neutralization.
BTW, I was the high bidder for Orr's 1981 handbook on eBay and I'm looking
forward to reading it. I also have a bid on a much older version too. Should
be interesting.
As my friend AC0C said, I have been seriously handicapped without an Orr
book on the shelf. Fortunately, my employers all believed in hiring the
handicapped. :-)
