You are incorrect. The have them open at Dayton.
It is NOT and Eimac tube. It's an import. Probably from China.

Alpha uses the 8877 in the 9500. I assume Eimac.
They use a pair of 4CX1000A Chinese knockoffs in the 8410 manual tune
amp. They use a 4CX1500B, I assume Chinese, in the 8406 6m amp.

Since when is Alpha using an 8877 these days? Ameritron has had excellent
luck with their source, whoever it is.
OTOH Ive had no trouble finding full output MRI pulls or NOS Eimacs when
needed. Just picked up a NIB pair of 3CPX1500's with 1998 date codes.

I would go with the supplier selling to Alpha. BTW, as a guy who has tried
to sort out buying from inside Red China, it is a vipers' nest. By the
time you test your items, the design will have changed because you can be
sure that the mfg are constantly looking for ways to make them cheaper,
and you know what that means. Why does the American made tube cost so much
more?

Curious to know if anyone has specific knowledge of which of the Chinese
8877 manufacturers are known for good tubes, and which are not?
I'm referring to names like "Beijing Jenerator", "Kunshan Vic
Electronics", and of course Greenstone - all of whom supply the 8877.
I'm spending a good deal of time researching this, though it's difficult
to decipher who's the actual manufacturer, and who's the middleman.
I'm currently waiting on receiving a couple of these from Beijing
Jenerator, who I think is a manufacturer, and I will test them thoroughly
once they arrive later this month.
