I'd like to thank everyone that took the time to respond. There are some
very knowledgeable and very generous folks on this reflector.
In the final outcome, I will rewind my failed transformer which I wound to
begin with. My first ever attempt. It lasted nearly 3 years of abuse during
construction and testing of my Junkbox Project. I discovered a flaw in that
the primary winding material was too small. I'll correct that and maybe get
a few more years out of it.
