That is not necessarily so, the keying waveform will be altered for
sure, but I operated my Heath DX 100 for years with the plate current
completely cut off with the "clamp tube" because I was using a S.S. TR
switch and a single electron made noise in the receiver. No one ever
mentioned anything wrong with my signals. (RST = 599 even from friends
and co-workers)
