Greetings, all.

I've been doing some EZNEC modelling of the Flag RX antenna (14'
vertical, 29' horizontal) and like the results. I'd like to be able to
switch directions. From reading the original QST article, I'm told that
simply placing two Flags back-to-back and switching the feedlines won't
work because of coupling. One can do this with a pair of point fed
Pennants, however.

This got me thinking, and I have an idea that I'd like to ask the group
for a sanity check.

Would it be possible to have a single Flag with feedpoint transformers
in the center of each vertical leg and switch directions with a DPDT
relay in the center? The switchbox in the center would connect to the
feedpoints via coax (14.5'), and the "unfed" leg of the Flag would have
a termination resistance switched in. My thinking is that the
termination resistance would be either 50 or 75 ohms, depending upon
what coax and transformers are used.

Does this sound reasonable? Or have I overlooked something?

Many thanks in advance!

73,
Charlie N9CO
