I plan on doing a serious effort in the SSB Sweepstakes!
This is the first time in 15 years that I won't have to sign
portable W?!!! It will be interesting! I just couldn't get
motivated enough with the long callsigns. Hope to work y'all in
2 weekends from SC!

P.S. We will have a KP4 Club Callsign for the M/M efforts from
down there.

When operating DX contests its useful to run a grayline
program as well as your logging program. Can someone
recommend how to set up a single PC to have two video
displays, one to display grayline and the other to
display the logger? Can this be extended to more than
two monitors?
Note: I checked the comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.video FAQ.
What I found was vague and not very satisfying.

Just downloaded MON.ZIP from the FCC. It is 292K bytes big and the
appl.dat file expands to 784K bytes. Hundreds of calls, mostly vanity
issue. Might be the entire first day applications. I got lucky (for
once) and got my first selection: N2JT. AND, I sent my application via
regular US snail-mail - no couriers, no FedEx, etc.
So now that its out, good luck to all!!!

Hi,
40 meters was pretty disappointing for me in the Dallas area. I was using
a dipole up at about 50', running QRP. I soon found that only S9 and above
stations were able to hear me thru the QRM. There were LOTS of S9+ signals
on 80 meters, realitively few on 40. As the evening progressed ( both nites)
80 meters seemed to get so full of strong signals that my rig was overloaded
to the point of not being able to copy anything in some parts of the band.

I may get flamed for this post like last time, but
here goes anyway.
I've got my Web pages updated with the Gate 2 vanity
calls issued yesterday. My programs only found
3790 issued calls. The ARRL bulletin said 4500
applications were processed. I don't yet know what
is the cause of the difference. If anyone thinks
they got a Gate 2 vanity call, but they're not on
my list please let me know.
SSB SS is going be interesing now (there this is
a contest related post).
