Gee, maybe we need to examine this issue more carefully.
What is the logic or at least the rationale behind this? As
far as I'm concerned, the only reason for the new NNY section
is so people will call W2's in SS hoping they're in that [rare] location!
Let's carry it out to its logical conclusion. There's a western and an
eastern WA section because of the mountains and attendant
difficulty getting from one to the other in the winter. Why not
the same for Oregon? Why not a northern and southern Nevada? Hey,
let's separate NYC-LI into NYC and LI and, better yet, make each of the
five boroughs of NYC their own section; maybe make Brooklyn a DXCC
"entity" of its own! Maybe California doesn't have enough sections? Texas
could probably use two or more additional ones. Gee, are we sure we
shouldn't divide Rhode Island and Delaware?
Enough is enough.
Why hasn't anyone raised the specter of the inability to compare records?
That is a shibboleth near and dear to every contester, isn't it?

Well, that should open up the flood gates. Anyone care to do a
prediction on how many new sections will exist by 2000 SS?
