Subject: [CQ-Contest] Correct QSL info for OT-calls

Dear OM:

You all know OT is a special prefix for BELGIUM. Since 1992 the Belgian hams
have been permitted the use high power during international contests. This
priviledge was obtained through the intervention of Peter Casier, ON6TT,
directly with the minister of Telecommunications. Peter is a Honorary Member
of the UBVA, the Belgian IARU society, and this in largly because of what he
did for the Belgian contesters. The special high power licenses are given
ONLY to club stations.

The UBA is the IARU society in belgium, and represents over 90% of the radio
amateurs in Belgium. Two small regional societies are also active.

Together with the special high power licenses our PTT issues "2 by 1" calls,
with the OT prefix (during nov and dec 2001 there were also a number of
OQ-prefixes on the air).

I have seen erroneous QSL info for many of those stations. All cards that
are sent through the IARU QSL bureau system, will be handled by the UBA QSL
bureau, and will reach all Belgian hams.

As president of the UBA, I am applying for the special OT licenses for our
members. In order to make sure that you do not send the cards to an
incorrect QSL bureau (there is also a regional FRA QSL bureau, which serves
probably less than 5% of the Belgian hams, and which spreads incorrect QSL
info, so please be careful!).

Here is the info for the OT calls for 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002:
