It might be worth mentioning ... again ... that quite often using an old Ma
Bell phone made by Western Electric will solve RFI problems. These older
units were produced at a time with the "phone company" had to do all the
service/maintenance work, and it was more cost effective to put the quality
in the instrument and eliminate service calls.
The courts didn't didn't do us any favors when it broke up Ma Bell ...
opening the door to the flood of "cheap" phones we have around today. I
keep a couple of the old dudes around to hand out when needed. Even the old
rotary dial units will suffice for a weekend of contesting.
