I believe you can use the year of the station owners license or the
operator(s).
Who cares as long as you copy what they sent.

I worked a station, during ss phone, who I have known for many years. The
station is an above average station and frequently has guest ops and even
multi efforts. When the op sent the check it was 30+ years off. I didn't
challenge it because they were doing a serious, very serious, effort and I
was just giving out points.
My question is: Are the rules really rules or just guidelines we can all
bend and twist to suit our individual purposes?
