Holy Capacitor Smoke, Batman! It's almost time for the Ninth
running of the Stew Perry TopBand Dx Challenge sponsored by The Boring
Amateur Radio Club. Go directly to the web site below, do not pass go,
do not collect $200, to understand the rules, times and glimpse the
originality of this TopBand extravaganza. http://web.jzap.com/k7rat/stew.html A glimpse below reveals a plethora of pandered neat-o plaques that the Stalwarts of the Stew have sponsored for the serious and not so serious competitor that may be won if you have the gonadoradials for it. If you are stimulated by this list of categories that honor great performances and you see an area that needs recognition, then e-mail me with your idea, mail the Club $50 and you'll join this list of RF Luminaries. Donor Category KL7RA Top QSO Total WA2DFI Top Score Single Op VE W7EW Best DX distance K7RAT Top Score Multi-Op World N5IA Most Grid Squares Worked N7KQ Top Score-Low power, Rest of World N9ADG Top Score West Washington- Low Power K1PX Top Score EU- Low Power K5KA Top Score US/VE Low Power K8ND Top Score S/O Caribbean W7GG Top Score S/O QRP KB5NJD Top Score-Ant < 40' or 13m tall KI7Y W7BX Memorial- Top Score JA K9DX Top Score Hi-Power- Europe N7JW Top Score Asia except JA K7CA Top Score Mainland South America W2GD Team Top Score Multi-op Europe WA9IRV Calcutta Award-Top Score VE3,VE4,MN,WI or ND Low Band Monitor Top Score S/O North America W4SAA Top Score S/O World N6TR Best Whine/Excuse/Explanation for performance W7AT Top Score from All Water Grid N6ZFO SPACE-Stew Perry Award for Chemical Elements (Points for chemical element symbols in calls in log) VK6VZ The VK5AX Small Backyard Memorial- Top Score wid antenna in space < 20m x 10m or 66ft x 33ft. Winner gets coveted Royal Flying Doctors Service of Australia hat As an added inducement there will be Official certificates available to contesters who are turning in their first ever log while scoring over 1000 points. We want to recognize the new players to the Top Band and their efforts. So even if you're an old player who doesn't send in logs...score > 1000 points + turn in your first log to us and you'll get a really cool certificate that'll look great on the wall or convince the spouse that you were really contesting Saturday night. There are some other CW contests that are happening during the running of The Stew Perry Experience. The Boring Amateur Radio Club urges all Stew combatants to also interact with these other contesters, divining what the exchange might be and making more Q's and having fun which is what RF contesting is all about anyway. I'd advise brushing up on your Periodic table, laying a few more radials and sloshing that Beverage out a bit further in order to compete for one of these priceless Boring Amateur Radio Club plaques. See you in The Stew!!!! 73 and I remain, Lew W7EW/W7AT Boring Amateur Radio Club Chancellor of Propaganda, Propagation and Malapropisms
