At he first glance those selfspotters look like the dumbest hams ever born.
How can you be so dumb to go the all way to invent tens of calls to selfspot
yourself and do it with africa 599 comment - what on earth is going on in
the mind of this person who invents something like this? It completely
puzzles me. And to selfspot with US calls and include data about what states
you need??? Why??

I would be very thankful to David if he could do some follow up based on
contest results later. Can you do it already now based on some of your
earlier analysis? What I really wonder is:

Are those guys serious contesters and claim any top places?
Do they ever sumbit log?
Do they put scores to 3830? I guess not as they must be completely
web-ignorant if they don't read CQ-Contest and noone of their friends does
and forwards them.

I think that in vast majority of cases we are dealing with casual ops who
just want to work more stations while they are active. Looking at those
cases below:

IZ2FOS has operated on 15 and 20 meters according to spots - clearly no
competitive strategy in SB or AB.
F4DSK has been spotted on low bands only - again no serious competitor
MM0DXH seems to be really dedicated to 20 meters from the start but then
gets spotted a few times on 15 meters Sunday evening - did he get tired of
20m? Not really going for top score at least!
EA3NW has been also spotted on 18m during the contest (could be typo)

CT3EN seems most serious out of them - only 15 meters. Was active from
16z-21z on Saturday and 14-21z on Sunday. I have never operated from CT3 but
I think from that the band should be open for longer time there?? Anyway, he
should have made a proper SB score! Maybe Jose can comment on those guys as
he has operated the same station I guess?

I see that CT3EN has been spotted more than 50 times and 1/3 of those are
self spots. Again - why??? The marginal utility of those self spots is
really so negligible that it is completely useless effort. He gets spotted
so frequently anyway and being SB he gets worked by all the assisted
stations anyway. He really does not win anything! Mystery.
