Hi,

I would like to have an extra tuning knob to place near my pc keyboard
to help me tune in contests.

As some radio have the up/down pins on ptt, I would like to have one
surplus tuning knob converted to feed these pins. What seems a problem
for is that one need to convert the binary output from the tuning knob
rotary encoder into up/down clicks. Whats the best way to do it? Having
a pic to do the job? Or is there any easy to find IC or easy to build
circuit to do that?

Then I ask, have anyone of you ever heard of such a project? Comments
appreciated.
