A few comments on this topic:

- I consider myself a potential top 3 low power contender but
currently do not have software that puts the exact transmit frequency in the
log, simply the band (14000 or 21000 etc). So I would have to upgrade to
compete. Not complaining necessarily but stating a fact.

- I run 7/8 inch Hardline to ½ inch hardline all the way to the
feedpoint of my antennas. This coax gives half the loss vs. RG8 on 10
Meters for example, so what conclusion could be made by my station appearing
to be running 200W vs. someone else running 100W with the same length of
vastly inferior cable.

- ASL is a meaningless notation point actually. You could be at
1000M elev and have a 4000M elev mountain range between you and populated
parts of USA and Europe (which was my case operating as A52UR) and be far
lower in signal strength than someone like me at 350M elev with a clear shot
to Europe at my home QTH of N1UR.

My total systems analysis of a station in the flat section of eastern
Massachusetts, not near the sea, running a AL811 amp with 800W output and
250 ft of RG8 coax to a TH7 tribander on a 50 ft tower, is not as strong in
Europe as my station running 100W. So I fail to see how the required
information gives any conclusion. The same 800W station at a higher
elevation than my station with a big ridge of mountains between it and
Europe will be even a lower signal than the one in Massachusetts.

I applaud the concept of wanting to get more info to weed out cheating. I
just fail to see what this does to do it.

For the record, I run 100 to 150W all the time (depending on contest) to
monobanders or stacked monobanders in all relevant directions on 10 ? 40M
and a wire beam on 80M with the above mentioned low loss line and a
completely clear shot to Europe. I am considered LOUD but it has nothing to
do with running excess power.
