Well, maybe they have to, to save time.
 
The worst thing I ever heard was 4T100MP sending their call as  4T1TTMP.  
Of course, it could have been even worse as 4TATTMP, a  really bad ATTeMPt.
 
I wrote them an email chastising them.  Never heard back.
