That 1963 SS announcement in QST has the Time as an element of the
exchange. That would have been in keeping with the idea of the SS exchange
at least imitating an NTS message preamble. Along those lines, RST was
never in the SS exchange because RST wasn't ever part of an NTS message
preamble. I don't remember when the Time was dropped from the exchange. My
first SS was 1962 but even my memory for trivia fails me on that one.
Is it time to resurrect the "What is the correct CK to send?" thread yet? I
miss it terribly.
