There is a principle in cosmology called (surprise!) the The Cosmological
Principle:

"On the largest cosmic scales, the Universe is both homogeneous and isotropic.
Homogeneity means that there is no preferred location in the Universe. That is,
no matter where you are in the Universe, if you look at the Universe, it will
look the same."

Ideally, ham radio contesting would be subject to its own "cosmological
principle" where the playing field is flat and there is no preferred location.
It can't be, I know, because the earth is too small to present homogeneity, but
some contests come closer than others, the CQ WPX, for example, compared to the
CQ WW.

Jim, K9YC, is basically right.

I recall a commercial for Life Cereal where the two kids say, "Let's get Mikey
to try it.  He hates everything." For some reason that comes to mind when I
read one of your posts about some contest that doesn't meet your approval.

It is fine to not like a contest and chose not to operate.  But, the rest of us
are tired of your complaints without any suggestion of how your issue could be
remedied. Give it a rest.

PS - All contests are not "fair".  That doesn't make them not fun.

IF you live within 500 miles of the Atlantic Ocean

For those of us living in NorCal, the scoring rules of the WPX contests makes
them FAR worth spending time on.
