Hi Kenny,

We did M/S this weekend in WPX. Thought I would pass on some
issues. Hope you find this useful and not annoying.

The biggest problem we had was with the serial numbers. I was going to
post details, but I have a better idea:

Throw out all the serial number code, start over, AND...

Don't worry about sending perfectly sequential numbers. In other words,
in a multi enviroment allow for the same number to be sent more than
once. Example:

0003 W4AN
0004 K1EA
0004 K1AR
0006 K1DG

K1EA & K1AR were sent the same number, and K1DG got the next in the
sequence. Nobody gets 0005, but nobody cares. K1EA and K1AR get the same
number... again, nobody cares. N8BJQ can check the logs with

This should be easier to program and eliminate most of the problems
associated with the serial numbers.

If you prefer details on our problems, let me know.
