I had no luck with mine until talking with Scott N3FJP. I set up the radio
as an FT-2000.
I now have the FT-450 working with the N3FJP software, and N1MM. If CT
supports the FT-2000, then it should work. I was told the command structure
is 98% the same.

No luck. Good thought though. I did discover the text command for the
FTDX9000 in the FJP logging program. I was able to get the interface to work
in there. But couldn't get the LPT keying to work in it. So, I have CT
working fine but with no rig interface. N3FJP has rig interface but no
keying. I can't win. We'll stick with CT and do manual band changes. Just
hope nobody goofs. Hi
Thanks again for the suggestion.

You may have success trying a Kenwood radio. Seriously. Starting with
the FTDX-9000 series, Yaseu went to a text command set very similar to
that used by Kenwood since at least the TS-850. For frequency and band
setting it may just work.
Except for the FT-817 and '897 (does the '857 do CAT?) none of the new
Yaesu HF rigs support the old command set. Working primarily in the
Yaesu backends of the Hamlib (http://www.hamlib.org) Project has given
me too much experience with them. :-)
