In reading the recently posted story on the CQWW SSB operation for the
ZX0F operation, http://www.contesting.com/_3830/9911/0823.html
I read, as reported by K1ZM, the following:
"The experts in software also worked very hard to learn and
adapt CT to DXTELNET, and how to put both on a reliable
communications network for use in a contest."

I had never given any thought to using anything other than wireless
communications from any radio position that I might be operating from
in a DX contest, figuring that I should, as a minimum, use an antenna
as the sole path for going out and getting any info I might need during
a contest, but I guess the incorporation of twisted pair communications
into our contest activities is now a part of the scene.

Does NA allow for the use of packet spots being received from a modem
connect over the telephone line, DSL line, whatever, into our "radio"
contesting?
Looks to me as though there is no longer any need to use a radio
linked TNC in our radio linked contesting activities.

I suppose, taking this theme a step further, if I understand things
correctly, there is no longer any need to just use RF as our
sole means of making contest contacts and gathering point enhancing
information during a contest.

Kind of sorry to even be asking this question.
