Well not really my first, I did play in the NAQP RTTY but wasn't set up very
well running AFSK. With the help of many on this reflector and MTTY,
WriteLog and YAESU reflectors I was much better prepared to put my mark on
the wall. I have been looking for my "NITCH" in contesting and think I have
found a home among the RTTY ranks mostly because of the operators. I'm sure
no records were set by my station but I can't remember having this much fun
on the air in a long time and please forgive any mistakes I made chalking
them up to a ROOKIE operator. I live in the city so kept my high power down
to 500 watts most of the time to keep any rocks from coming through the
windows and the police from knocking on the front door and seemed to work
well. My only regret is my new call sign didn't come in time for the
contest so in the next one if you hear KI8U it's me (AB8NI), but on the up
side what a great way to get rid of all these old QSL cards and you can
expect one from me, with WAS and DXCC RTTY now on my to-do list. You are a
great bunch, thanks.
