In case I do get time to break away from work this weekend and can
participate a little in the WPX, I guess I would like to toss this question
out. I will be using WL or N1MM with my KAM Plus. I'm using a different
laptop now. The old 386 machine that I used to use with WF1B is way too slow
today. Takes more than a second to key the rig. Now I'm using an IBM
ThinkPad 380. Still old but at least its a Pentium chip.
Question, am I likely to have any problems getting the KAM to talk with the
Thinkpad. I used to have to use KAM software to initialize the Kam or at
least that is what I remember. I don't know what speed the connection was
between the KAM and the old laptop. With the newer ThinkPad will it be plug
and play? Can I get them talking just by setting parameters in Write or
N1MM. I've had Write log now for over a year and I've never used it. Guess
the old drive isn't there any more.
I do have soundcard interface (again never hooked up) but I think the best
odds of getting on this weekend for a run on Sunday afternoon would be with
the KAM. Any thoughts.
